Karen Shelton
Karen Shelton has been practicing yoga for over 14 years and became certified to teach in 1999. She maintains a 500 hour certification through Yoga Alliance. The cornerstone of her initiation into yoga was through Ashtanga and Kripalu styles of yoga. The combination or a strong, athletic practice of Ashtanga was perfectly complimented by the heart and openness of Kripalu. Her primary yoga mentor encouraged her to seek trainings everywhere and to not be a purist in her style but rather to gather and explore and take what worked and leave what did not. As a result, Karen has
Taken workshops, trainings and classes with a veritable ”who's who” in the yoga world.
Some of the teachers that have most influenced her are; Erich Schiffman, Sarah Powers,
David Life, Sharon Gannon, David Swenson, Richard Freeman, Baron Baptiste, and Kali Ray. Through years of practice and exploring other styles and teachers, Karen has created a blended offering that can challenge the body, explore the mind and its reactions, encourage self-inquiry and create an environment to support your own explorations.
